THE COLORADO Avalanche hopes for a much needed victory when they visit the dangerous Minnesota Wild on Friday night in the current National Hockey League season.
Holding a 22-16-6 record, the Avalanche is the slight favorite to win over the home-team Wild in their scheduled game.
Beating the Wild at its own arena is a tough task but the Avalanche has a huge chance of doing it since the Wild has lost of its previous games.
To defeat the Wild, Avalanche star goaltender
Peter Budaj needs to produce another solid defensive effort for his team.
This year, Budaj has surrendered four goals in three of his last four starts and turned away 46 of 50 shots against the Wild.
It can be recalled that he help his team beat the Wild 7-4 on Nov. 27 and stopped all 18 shots he faced.
Avalanche goaltender Craig Anderson should also put up a huge defensive effort to tow his team to victory over the Wild.
