WHO would ever think the Philadelphia Eagles will be among the top teams in the current National Football League season?
The Eagles are surprising a lot of this year, as they continue to pile up wins and moves closer to their quest for an NFL playoff slot and the chance to compete for the Super Bowl this year.
In the recent victory of the Eagles over the Washington Redskins, superstar quarterback Michael Vick was at his best as he carried the team to victory over the home-team 59-28.
Vick was sensational in the game as he scored six touchdowns to lead his team to victory against the Redskins.
With their victory, the Eagles increase their record to 6-3 win-loss record and dropped the home-team to a 4-5 record.
The night belong to Vick as he became the first player in NFL history with at least 300 yards passing, 50 yards rushing, four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in a game.
The superstar quarterback was awesome in the game as he completed his first 10 passes and finished 20 for 28 for 333 yards.
To cap his great effort, Vick also ran eight times for 80 yards and two scores, moving past Steve Young and into second place in NFL history for yards rushing by a quarterback.
Philadelphia Eagles superstar quarterback Michael Vick is playing superb in the 2010 National Football League season.
Aside from the superb effort from Vick, the whole Eagles team was also fully motivated as they set team records for total yards in a game (592), points in a half (45) and had the biggest lead after the first quarter for any NFL road team (28-0) since at least 1950.
The morale boosting victory put the Eagles into a first-place tie with the New York Giants in the division, with both teams’ two games ahead of the Redskins.
As the Eagles are in high spirits, the Redskins were sad with their defeat since it reduces their chance to get an NFL playoff slot.
McNabb was visibly outplayed by Vick as he finished 17 for 31 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions; nearly all of the yards coming after the Redskins had dug themselves a five-touchdown hole.
Despite their loss, the Redskins remain confident of their chances in the 2010 NFL season saying they just need to play even harder and limit their turnovers to get the wins that will carry them to the NFL playoffs and even to the Super Bowl.
