The woes of the Dallas Cowboys continue in the current National Football League season.
In a recent loss to the New York Giants at home, the Cowboys lose due to an injury its superstar quarterback Tony Romo who is expected to miss six to eight weeks of NFL action due to his left collarbone injury.
The Cowboys were leading majority of the game against the Giants but the injury suffered by Romo made the momentum shift to the visiting team who defeated them 41-35 in-front of their fans.
With the injury suffered by Romo the season of the Cowbys are now in serious doubt especially their chance to enter the NFL playoffs and even competing in the Super Bowl this year.
To improve its woeful 1-5 win-loss record, the Cowboys must find ways to win and limit their turnovers so that they can come up with a victory against the rest of the NFL teams.
Taking charge for the Cowboys not that Romo is injured is 38-year-old back-up quarterback Jon Kitna, who hadn’t played since Oct. 5, 2008, when he was part of Detroit’s win-less season.
Now that he is the starting quarterback for the Cowboys, a big challenge now await Kitna who now must now show what he is capable of doing since the season is on the line for the team.
Hope is still not loss for the Cowboys since a 1-5 Cincinnati Bengals team in 1970 was still able to enter the NFL playoffs despite its woeful record.
If the Cowboys wish to win and salvage its losing season it must work and play hard this year.
In beating the Cowboys, Giants superstar quarterback Eli Manning was the man of the hour for the team as he spearhead the Giants from a 13-point deficit to a 41-35 victory that put the Giants a full game ahead of the NFC East and tied for the most wins in the conference.
Manning led the Giants on five straight scoring drives over the middle two quarters, posting 31 points.
With their victory the Giants are now flying high in the current NFL season and on target of getting a slot in the NFL playoffs and even compete for the Super Bowl in the 2010 NFL season.
To continue winning the 5-2 Giants must play hard consistently and limit its errors in the current NFL season.
