Vikings seeks new direction, fire Childress

IN A move to change its fortune in the ongoing National Football League season, the Minnesota Vikings management had decided to fie head coach Brad Childress.
The decision to dismiss Childress after five NFL seasons with the team is not entirely a surprise since the Vikings have a disastrous 3-7 win-loss record this year.
The Vikings management hopes their decision to fire Childress will motivate the players to play even harder for the team this year.
The Vikings explained their decision to fire Childress is not only due to their bad record but also the recent ill-advised decisions of the latter that lead to turmoil and chaos to the team.
The NFL franchise had a huge aspiration for the team this year after veteran NFL quarterback Brett Favre foregoes his retirement and returned to the team this year for the last time.
However, Childress was inefficient on his job as the team suffered many losses in the ongoing NFL season.
Before losing his head coaching job, Childress went 40-37 with the Vikings, including 1-2 in the playoffs.
He was all in with Favre, riding his incredible 2009 season to the NFC championship game and then going down this year under the weight of his struggles to regain that rhythm.
Assuming the position as temporary head coach of the Vikings in the remainder of the current NFL season is defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
Frazier is very happy with his new job and he made a vow that he will do his best to bring back success to the NFL franchise.
Now that they have fired Childress, the Vikings hope their move would yield positive result for the team in the 2010 NFL season.

Favre does it again lead Vikings to victory over Cardinals 27-24

National Football League superstar quarterback Brett Favre has shown the world big-time that he still has enough energy left in his tank to play in the premier professional football league in the planet.
Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to a thrilling 27-24 victory over the visiting Arizona Cardinals to improve their record to 3-5 in tie with the the losing team in the 2010 NFL season.
The superstar quarterback was at his best in the game as he threw for 446 yards, more than he had throw in in any of his previous 285 career regular season starts.
The NFL superstar also had  36 completions which tied for the most in his career (had 36 on Dec. 5, 1993 at Bears) to improve his team’s chances of entering the NFL playoffs and playing in the Super Bowl.
Favre was very determined to give a much needed victory to his team as he engineered another jaw-dropping fourth-quarter comeback that may have saved the Vikings’ season.
Shades of the NFL superstar was all over the game as he  completed 36 of 47 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions in easily his best performance of the season.
It was his first 400-yard game since Dec. 5, 1993, when he threw for 402 at Chicago as a Green Bay Packer.
The remarkable performance of Favre made him joined the ranks of Tommy Kramer and Joe Kapp as the Vikings quarterbacks with the most prolific passing games in team history.
While the Vikings are celebrating it is the other-way around for the Cardinals who is sad with their loss.
Despite their loss, Cardinals star quarterback Derek Anderson is still confident of their chances in the ongoing NFL season.
In the game, Anderson lead his team in a losing cause as he went 15 for 26 for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald had seven catches for 107 yards for the Cardinals, who had the ball first to start overtime.
The loss also showed that Anderson is now  ready to carry the team on his back after the recent retirement of the team’s former superstar quarterback Kurt Warner.

The Three Musketeers

There’s nothing much more important for a person than to know what his worth is. This has been the story for the previously undecided Minnesota Vikings quarterback, Brett Favre. After the long wait on his possible retirement or return to the Vikings to play another season, Favre has now decided to go out of the field once again. This has been after the three great musketeers of Vikings, the defensive end Jared Allen, kicker Ryan Longwell and guard Steve Hutchinson.

The three were reported to have been visited the QB in Mississippi, had a tour around Favre’s property and finally been brave to tackle the topic on the possible retirement of comeback of the famous QB. In a very light conversation, the three made it clear to Favre of their willingness to have him back once again not just for the team, but personally. They told him that they all love to play with him and that they would love to do it again.

The three haven’t felt a bit depressed after Favre expressed his agreement to play with them again. Right after Favre’s decision, the four flew together back to the Vikings headquarters. All have been happy after seeing the QB alight from Ryan Longwell’s SUV. They had their press conference to formally announce Favre’s return following their 12:40PM practice.

Favre’s comeback has ended all the speculations and rumours that have spread out the NFL world. Favre has now another season to prove, not just to the whole team, but to all those who have rumoured him as being just after the money. His contract deal with the Minnesota Vikings had been the same.

Truly, his return is a much sought after event not just for their fans but also for the many sports bettor that will risk their bankroll once again for the Vikings.

Business as Usual, With or Without Favre

With just less than a month before the start of the 2010 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings are now preparing themselves into playing without the famous Vikings quarter back, Brett Favre. It was reported that the two veteran quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels are the probable replacement for Favre. Jackson has already set his mind into playing as the quarterback and is already comfortable with the situation. This is definitely, business as usual for the Vikings.

As a consistent response to all the rumours of his indecision to play this season or not, Favre and his agent, Bus Cook, keeps on assuring that he’ll still play as soon as his surgically repaired ankle is healthy despite the rumours circulating about him texting all his team mates and Vikings’ management saying his plan of retiring. The QB was also reported to be visiting his doctor, Dr. James Andrews, in Pensacola, Florida.

Brad Childress, Minnesota Vikings coach, strongly stated that Favre’s indecision until now will not going to be detrimental for the team, and that they are making every effort into outsmarting the teams previous performances.

Now that things are quite clear as the opening of the new season is approaching, with or without Favre, Vikings will always be Vikings. This statement will definitely give assurance not just to their fans but also to all bettors who will entrust their bankroll on the team. Surely, odds will favour to the team.
