Lions road woes now at 25th after recent loss to Bills

PLAYING on the road remains an Achilles hill for the Detroit Lions in the ongoing National Football League season.
This developed after the Lions suffered their 25th defeat on the road as they fell to the struggling Buffalo Bills 12-14 in the 2010 NFL season.
With the defeat the Lions fell down 2-7 win-loss record while the Bills increase to 1-8 in the current NFL season.
Bills superstar running back Fred Jackson was the hero for the the home-team as he  ran a  season-best 133 yards and scored twice in leading the Bills get past the Lions.
Playing in-front of its fans, the Bills were very motivated in the game as they play huge as a  team and battled the visitor toe to toe to emerge victorious in their game.

Jackson took advantage of the Lions poor performance on the road as he carried his team to victory over the Lions.
Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a also a good game as he 12 of 24 for 146 yards and a touchdown to help his team defeat the Lions.
With their victory the Lions are now were given a new lease of life in their aim for an NFL playoff slot and the chance to compete in the Super Bowl.
The Lions on the other-side of the coin were sad with their loss since it showed the world that the team is struggling hard on the road the past three years.
However, the team remains focused on their aim for an NFL playoff appearance this year despite their loss.
The Lions said they can still achieve their dream if they continue to play hard and work as a team this year.

Struggling Bills aims 1st win vs. Lions

The struggling Buffalo Bills aims to end their win drought when they host the Detroit Lions in the ongoing National Football League season on November 14.
The Bills are feeling good of its chances against the Lions despite their 0-8 win loss record since the latter is playing bad on the road.
Did we say playing bad? It is an understatement actualy since the Lions are playing really terrible on the road this year losing their past six road games.
The Lions have dropped 24 straight on the road from Sept. 9, 2001-Dec. 21, 2003, have lost three of their four road games this year by eight points or fewer.
If the Bills can have an A-game on Sunday they have a huge chance of beating the visiting Lions.
The Bills need need to employ tough defense and limit their turnovers if it wish to defeat the Lions.
The home-team can further increase their chances of beating the Lions if newly acquired linebacker Shawne Merriman can make debut on Sunday.
If Merriman plays the odds that the Bills will win their game will further increase against the Lions.
The Lions can finally end their road games problems if the team will play as a team against the Bills.
Lions new starting quarterback Shaun Hill who recenty replace Matthew Stafford to that position need to play 101 percent to give victory to the team.
Hill became the team’s starting quarterback after Stafford suffered a shoulder injury in a 23-20 overtime loss to the New York Jets last Sunday.
NFL experts said if Hill will have a huge game the Lions can defeat the Bills again, since their first meeting in 2006 wher the Lions won 20-17.
In six games, Hill has thrown for 1,309 yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 61.1 percent of his passes.

Host team Lions seeks upset win vs. favored Redskins

THE HOST team Detroit Lions hopes to win its second win in the 2010 National Football League season when they play against the visiting Washington Redskins on October 31.
Having a woeful 1-5 win-loss record, the Lions are desperate for a win against the Redskins who have a superior 4-3 record against the host team.
With its bad record, the Lions is the underdog against the Redskins who is very determined to get a win and boost its NFL playoff hope further.
Despite being the underdog, the Lions could still pull a surprise and beat the Redskins if sophomore rookie Matthew Stafford will once again have a great game against the Redskins just like what he did on September 27,2009.
A then rookie Stafford lead the Lions to a 19-14 victory against the Redskins after he threw for 241 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions that day.
To win against the favored Redskins, Stafford should perform well and feed with great passes Lions reliable wide receiver Calvin Johnson,  who has 15 catches for 286 yards and three touchdowns over the last three games.
Once Stafford ad Johnson have a great game, chances are the Lions could win the game against the Redskins.
On the other-side of the coin, the Redskins for its part could avoid an upset if the team’s veteran cornerback  DeAngelo Hall and nose tackle Albert Haynesworth will have an A-game against the Lions.
Hall must exert efforts to interrupt the plays of the Lions, do some interceptions and lead his team to victory against the Lions.
Haynesworth must do his best to contain Stafford and not allow him to create great plays for his team.
Although the Redskins are the favorite to win the game, the Lions could give them a run for their money if the host team will play inspired and hard in their game.
