Two of the worst teams in the current National Football League season will face each other on Monday evening.
The Arizona Cardinals will play host to the visiting San Francisco 49ers, which like them hold a similar record of 3-7 win-loss record.
Both the Cardinals and 49ers are aiming for a win to increase their chances of playing in the playoffs of the 2010 NFL season.
The 49ers are the slight favorite to win their game due to the current five-game long streak of the Cardinals.
49ers star quarterback Troy Smith will carry the cause of the visitor against the Cardinals who will be bannered by its star quarterback Derek Anderson.
The move to start Smith is a huge reward for the former since it just shows the team still trust him despite the fact that he had a bad game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their latest game.
In the 49ers 21-0 loss to the Buccaneers, Smith was sacked six times and completed 16 of 31 passes for 148 yards with an interception in the said game.

49ers head coach Mike Singletary explained he decided to keep Smith on the starting line-up to ensure the team will have a chance of beating the visiting 49ers.
Aside from Smith, 49ers star running back Franck Gore can also provide able to support to Smith in their game against the Cardinals.
In the past four games of the 49ers, Gore had a season-low 23 yards on 12 attempts after averaging 114.0 yards rushing.
Gore is set to face an Arizona run defense that is 28th in the league at 135.1 yards allowed per game.
In their game, Gore expressed confident of his team’s chances since he had been successful in playing against the Cardinals, averaging 101.6 rushing yards with six total TDs in his last five matchups.
In fact in their last game on December 14 the past year, Gore rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries in a 24-9 win.
The 49ers are feeling confident on its chances against the Cardinals since they have swept their series since 2009.
Despite being the underdog in their game, the Cardinals are still very much confident of their chances against the 49ers.
Derek Anderson, the star quarterback of the Cardinals believes his team has a huge chance of beating the 49ers if they will play 101 percent come game-time.
Cardinals’ coach Ken Whisehunt for his part said the season is not yet over for his team all they have to do to win is to toughen up their defense and score big on their offence.
