49ers, Cardinals face-off on Monday night

Two of the worst teams in the current National Football League season will face each other on Monday evening.
The Arizona Cardinals will play host to the visiting San Francisco 49ers, which like them hold a similar record of 3-7 win-loss record.
Both the Cardinals and 49ers are aiming for a win to increase their chances of playing in the playoffs of the 2010 NFL season.
The 49ers are the slight favorite to win their game due to the current five-game long streak of the Cardinals.
49ers star quarterback Troy Smith will carry the cause of the visitor against the Cardinals who will be bannered by its star quarterback Derek Anderson.
The move to start Smith is a huge reward for the former since it just shows the team still trust him despite the fact that he had a bad game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their latest game.
In the 49ers 21-0 loss to the Buccaneers, Smith was sacked six times and completed 16 of 31 passes for 148 yards with an interception in the said game.
Smith also threw for 552 yards on 29 of 47 passing with two touchdowns in his first two starts.
49ers head coach Mike Singletary explained he decided to keep Smith on the starting line-up to ensure the team will have a chance of beating the visiting 49ers.
Aside from Smith, 49ers star running back Franck Gore can also provide able to support to Smith in their game against the Cardinals.
In the past four games of the 49ers, Gore had a season-low 23 yards on 12 attempts after averaging 114.0 yards rushing.
Gore is set to face an Arizona run defense that is 28th in the league at 135.1 yards allowed per game.
In their game, Gore expressed confident of his team’s chances since he had been successful in playing against the Cardinals, averaging 101.6 rushing yards with six total TDs in his last five matchups.
In fact in their last game on December 14 the past year, Gore rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries in a 24-9 win.
The 49ers are feeling confident on its chances against the Cardinals since they have swept their series since 2009.
Despite being the underdog in their game, the Cardinals are still very much confident of their chances against the 49ers.
Derek Anderson, the star quarterback of the Cardinals believes his team has a huge chance of beating the 49ers if they will play 101 percent come game-time.
Cardinals’ coach Ken Whisehunt for his part said the season is not yet over for his team all they have to do to win is to toughen up their defense and score big on their offence.

Favre does it again lead Vikings to victory over Cardinals 27-24

National Football League superstar quarterback Brett Favre has shown the world big-time that he still has enough energy left in his tank to play in the premier professional football league in the planet.
Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to a thrilling 27-24 victory over the visiting Arizona Cardinals to improve their record to 3-5 in tie with the the losing team in the 2010 NFL season.
The superstar quarterback was at his best in the game as he threw for 446 yards, more than he had throw in in any of his previous 285 career regular season starts.
The NFL superstar also had  36 completions which tied for the most in his career (had 36 on Dec. 5, 1993 at Bears) to improve his team’s chances of entering the NFL playoffs and playing in the Super Bowl.
Favre was very determined to give a much needed victory to his team as he engineered another jaw-dropping fourth-quarter comeback that may have saved the Vikings’ season.
Shades of the NFL superstar was all over the game as he  completed 36 of 47 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions in easily his best performance of the season.
It was his first 400-yard game since Dec. 5, 1993, when he threw for 402 at Chicago as a Green Bay Packer.
The remarkable performance of Favre made him joined the ranks of Tommy Kramer and Joe Kapp as the Vikings quarterbacks with the most prolific passing games in team history.
While the Vikings are celebrating it is the other-way around for the Cardinals who is sad with their loss.
Despite their loss, Cardinals star quarterback Derek Anderson is still confident of their chances in the ongoing NFL season.
In the game, Anderson lead his team in a losing cause as he went 15 for 26 for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald had seven catches for 107 yards for the Cardinals, who had the ball first to start overtime.
The loss also showed that Anderson is now  ready to carry the team on his back after the recent retirement of the team’s former superstar quarterback Kurt Warner.

Rookie QB lead Cardinals to victory over defending NFL champ Saints

In his first stint as the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, Max Hall has shown the world he is capable of handling such task for his team in the current National Football League season.
Hall surprised everybody with his good performance in the Cardinals 30-20 victory against the defending National Football League champion New Orleans Saints at their own home-floor.
Playing at their own arena, Hall completed completed 17 of 27 passes for 168 yards to help his team to victory against the Saints.
Hall’s performance in the game is just average after he also committed an error when he throw an interception that lead to an early Saints field goal and fumbled twice.
Although his game is not superb, Cardinals coach Ken Whisehunt said it is still enough to bring victory to their team.
Whisehunt said inspite of being a rookie, Hall did not succumb to pressure as he had a modest game to bring a much needed win to the team that tied them with the Saints at 3-2 win loss record.
The Cardinals coach said Hall still has many things to learn in the NFL but he is confident he can perform well as the team’s starting quarterback.
He said the team is very focused on their goal to capture the Super Bowl crown this year.
The Saints as expected is not happy with their defeat but credited Hall for a good game.
Despite their defeat, the Saints are still confident they can still successfully defend their Super Bowl trophy in the 2010 NFL season.
