49ers star quarterback Troy Smith will carry the cause of the visitor against the Cardinals who will be bannered by its star quarterback Derek Anderson.
The move to start Smith is a huge reward for the former since it just shows the team still trust him despite the fact that he had a bad game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their latest game.
In the 49ers 21-0 loss to the Buccaneers, Smith was sacked six times and completed 16 of 31 passes for 148 yards with an interception in the said game.
Smith also threw for 552 yards on 29 of 47 passing with two touchdowns in his first two starts.

Bengals hope upset win vs. Jets

THE CINCINNATI Bengals aims to upset the red-hot New York Jets when they visit the latter on Thursday evening in the 2010 National Football League season.
Sporting a woeful 2-8 win-loss record, the Bengals is the overwhelming underdog against the Jets (8-2) who are on a roll in the current NFL season.
Despite the huge odds, the Bengals can still pull an upset if they their A-game and limit the performance of Jets superstar quarterback Mark Sanchez.
This year, the Jets are flying high due to the huge performance of Sanchez who is very instrumental in the current three-game winning streak of the team.
Sanchez was superb in the three-game winning streak of the Jets by throwing for 950 yards and six TDs and the offense totaled more than 400 yards in each.
If the Bengals can stop Sanchez from dominating their game a win is very possible for them.
The Jets on the other hand can avoid defeat in-front of its fans if they can keep playing good offence and great defense in their game.
In the 2010 NFL season, the defense of the team is simply sensational as they only allow 40 points in the fourth quarter of the last four games and has forced a total of three turnovers.
The Jets forced 14 in their first seven games.
Jets coach Rex Ryan believe if his team will play their hearts out and give 101 percent effort they can get their ninth win against the Bengals.

Vikings seeks new direction, fire Childress

IN A move to change its fortune in the ongoing National Football League season, the Minnesota Vikings management had decided to fie head coach Brad Childress.
The decision to dismiss Childress after five NFL seasons with the team is not entirely a surprise since the Vikings have a disastrous 3-7 win-loss record this year.
The Vikings management hopes their decision to fire Childress will motivate the players to play even harder for the team this year.
The Vikings explained their decision to fire Childress is not only due to their bad record but also the recent ill-advised decisions of the latter that lead to turmoil and chaos to the team.
The NFL franchise had a huge aspiration for the team this year after veteran NFL quarterback Brett Favre foregoes his retirement and returned to the team this year for the last time.
However, Childress was inefficient on his job as the team suffered many losses in the ongoing NFL season.
Before losing his head coaching job, Childress went 40-37 with the Vikings, including 1-2 in the playoffs.
He was all in with Favre, riding his incredible 2009 season to the NFC championship game and then going down this year under the weight of his struggles to regain that rhythm.
Assuming the position as temporary head coach of the Vikings in the remainder of the current NFL season is defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
Frazier is very happy with his new job and he made a vow that he will do his best to bring back success to the NFL franchise.
Now that they have fired Childress, the Vikings hope their move would yield positive result for the team in the 2010 NFL season.

Bears solidify playoff dream with 16-0 win over Dolphins

The Chicago Bears is getting closer to its dream of getting a slot in the forthcoming playoffs of the ongoing National Football League season.
This developed after the Bears beat the Miami Dolphins 16-0 at the home of the latter in the current NFL season.
The victory improved the record of the Bears to 7-3 and dropped the Dolphins to 5-5 in the 2010 NFL season.
The loss is very disappointing for the Dolphins since it is their fourth loss at home this year and their second shutout after 40 years.
Bears star defensive end Julius Peppers was the hero for the dominating victory of the visiting team as he only allowed 187 yards and a single third-down conversion in the game.
Pepper was a man on a mission as he also had three sacks to carry the team to its first shutout victory since Nov. 19, 2006, against the Jets.
Aside from Peppers, Bears star running back Matt Forte, also had a solid game for the team carrying 25 times for 97 yards and a score for the Bears, who converted 10 of 18 third-down situations and controlled the ball for nearly 38
minutes.
The visiting team was fully focused in the game as they employ a stone-wall defense to defeat the injury riddled Dolphins in-front of its fans.
The Dolphins and its fans were very sad with their loss since their misfortune while playing at home continues this year.
The misfortunes of the Dolphins this year had been attributed mainly on the barrage of injuries suffered by its key players including the team’s top two quarterbacks Chad Pennington and Chad Henne.
The third-string quarterback of the Bears Tyler Thigpen tried to end their home-game misery but he suffered six sacks in his first NFL start since 2008, which lead to their loss.
Thigpen is the 15th quarterback to start for the Dolphins since Dan Marino.
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano remains confident of their chances this year despite their losses this year.
Sparano said their woes this year is not due to the injuries they suffer but the way they poorly played this year.
He said if they can play even better this year they have a huge chance of getting more wins and become successful this year.

The morale boosting victory put the Eagles into a first-place tie with the New York Giants in the division, with both teams’ two games ahead of the Redskins.
As the Eagles are in high spirits, the Redskins were sad with their defeat since it reduces their chance to get an NFL playoff slot.
McNabb was visibly outplayed by Vick as he finished 17 for 31 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions; nearly all of the yards coming after the Redskins had dug themselves a five-touchdown hole.
