Antônio Rogério Nogueira will fight against Ryan Bader at UFC 119. These two fighters will square off in what will be a lightweight bout at the upcoming event. The event is scheduled to take place on the 25th of September and will take place in Indiana.

Bader is not quite as experienced as Nogueira, but he is without doubt a talented fighter. To this point he has managed to take home victories in all 4 of his UFC matches as well. With another victory he will likely be seen as one of the best fighters in his class.

Nogueira has fought 22 bouts to this point and has been highly successful. Out of his 22 bouts he has only lost 3 times. Most of his fights have taken place outside of the UFC, but he still has looked pretty good in the UFC fights he has taken on. He has won both of his UFC matches he has been dealt in impressive fashion.

Nogueira has looked so good in his fights that he has managed to receive awards for both of his fights. These awards include “Knockout of the Night” and “Fight of the Night.” These sorts of awards will bring high expectations with him into the ring.

Frank Mir and Mirko Filipovi? will square off in one of the biggest fights of the night in the UFC 119 event that will take place on the 25th of September. These two fighters are in different points of their career, but they will each bring all that they’ve got to the ring on the 25th.

Mirko Filipovic, otherwise known as “Cro Cop” will take the ring as an underdog. Despite the fact that he is the underdog entering the fight nobody expects him to just keep over and lose the match without a solid fight. Cro Cop is known as one of the tougher, more experienced fighters around and will bring all he has.
Cro Cop has a great strength in the realm of kickboxing and you can expect him to try to get a few solid shots in with his leg. He is known to put away his opponents with a powerful kick to the head. If he manages to land one solid kick like that he may be able to take away the fight.

Frank Mir has shown flashes of being as good as any fighter in the world, yet he has not quite been able to keep it up. He beat Brock Lesnar, one of the biggest names in the world previously and was known as the top fighter in the world. He has since lost to Lesnar and also Shane Carwin. This fight will be important as he tries to rebound.

Look for a tough fight as each fighter tries to show what they are all about.

Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin UFC 116 Preview

Brock Lesnar defends his heavyweight title against Shane Carwin in the main event at UFC 116 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 3.

Former professional wrestling standout Brock Lesnar (4-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) has only five MMA fights to his resume. He captured the heavyweight title with a win over Randy Couture at UFC 91 and then defended his title against the only fighter to beat him Frank Mir at UFC 100. He hasn’t fought in a year due to a serious case of diverticulitis that threatened his career.
Lesnar is an extremely powerful striker. He throws heavy punches that are hard to defend against. His most recent victories have come by TKO and only once has he gone a full three rounds. It will be interesting to see how his conditioning holds up if the fight stretches out after missing time to recover from surgery.

Shane Carwin (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) won the interim heavyweight title with a victory over Frank Mir. Carwin started with a wrestling background, but is also training in boxing and brazilian jiu jitsu. Many of his early fights were won by submission, but he has been demonstrating his knockout power of late. He has dispatched every opponent that he has faced in the first round.

Both fighters are more comfortable staying on their feet. Lesnar might have a slight edge in the striking department, while Carwin has the edge on the mat, but Lesnar has the ability to make Carwin pay if he makes any mistakes on the mat. Lesnar’s speed will also be a big factor and it will be interesting to see how Carwin deals with it.
