The Los Angeles Dodgers hopes to win its second straight win when they play host to the San Diego Padres in the current Major League Baseball season. The home-team Los Angeles Dodgers (13-13) is picked as favorite to roll past the San Diego Padres (9-14) due to their better record.
Coming off a win over the Florida 5-4 win over the Florida Marlins, the Los Angeles Dodgers are very focused on extending their winning streak to two. With their last victory, the Los Angeles Dodger is back on track after experiencing a three-game losing streak earlier.
To win over the San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Dodgers need to give their A-game come game-time.Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier need to continue with his awesome hitting game to bring down the San Diego Padres.Ethier who is looking to extend his major league-record April hit streak to 25 need to give it his all as he face Padres starting pitcher Clayton Richard.
If Ethier can continue his spectacular hitting streak it would be an early night to the visiting Padres.Continuing his hitting streak against the Padres will not be easy since Ethier is is batting .207 (6 for 29) against left-handers as compared to .451 against right-handers.Richard (1-1. 3.95 ERA) has limited Ethier to one hit in 13 at-bats, though left-handers are hitting .292 (7 for 24) off of him this season.
He has gone 4-0 with a 2.48 ERA in six career starts against Los Angeles. The visiting Padres on the other-side of the coin will face a tough challenge against the Dodgers in this game.
Losing six of their recent games, the Padres are in dire need of a win and could suffer another loss if they cannot give their A-game on Friday evening. To defeat the Dodgers, Richard must do his best to stop Ethier and the rest of the home-team from scoring runs in this game.
The Padres might be picked to lose in this game but they can prove the odd makers wrong if they can come up with a good game-plan and execute it well come game-time against the Dodgers.
