The visiting New Orleans Hornets hopes to accomplish what other National Basketball Association teams have not done the past two years, take a 2-0 lead against the Los Angeles Lakers in round one of the NBA playoffs.n round of the NBA playoffs.The upstart New Orleans hopes to beat the Los Angeles Lakers again in Game 2 of their best of seven playoff series and take an unthinkable 2-0 lead against the defending NBA champion.
Coming into Game 2, the New Orleans who remains the underdog in this game and the entire series despite their morale boosting Game 1, the visiting NBA team remain confident of their chances against the home-team.Beating the Los Angeles Lakers for the second straight time inside the Staples Center is a tough job but the New Orleans Hornets can do it if they can come up with a good game-plan and execute it well on game day.
To defeat the Lakers and take 2-0 lead, the New Orleans needs to once again get scoring number from its leader superstar point-guard Chris Paul.Paul had a magnificent game one as he does not only score but also dished out great assists to his teammates in their team.
To topple the Lakers, the Hornets also need to play more as a team and limit their turnovers in this game.The Hornets also need to play more tougher in defense to stop Lakers superstar guard Kobe Bryant from scoring big in this game.The odds of winning remain with the Lakers but the Hornet can prove the basketball experts wrong if they can play with 110 percent efforts come game-time.
The home-team Lakers can defeat the Hornets and tie their series if they can once get solid scoring numbers from Bryant.The Lakers also need to capitalized on their championship experience and bigger front-line to defeat the smaller Hornets team.Lakers superstar Spanish center Pau Gasol who had a less stellar game in Game 1 need to be more assertive in Game 2 to help his team beat the Hornets and tie their playoff match-up to 1-1.
Veteran Lakers point-guard Derek Fisher for his part need to play more with energy in defense to stop Paul from scoring big for his team.Despite their surprising Game 1 loss the Lakers remain the favorite to win this game and the entire series all they need to do is to play with more fire and determination against the Hornets.
